This week, our art room was buzzing with creativity as students dove into the world of Abstract Cubism Portraits! Inspired by the legendary Pablo Picasso, they played with Shape and Value, using bold Oil Pastels to bring their wild and colorful visions to life. These quirky, cubist faces are full of surprisesβ€”angles, colors, and expressions you never saw coming!

During this time, I have served as a basketball and track coach, librarian, class sponsor, Kansas Association for Youth sponsor, Fellowship of Christian Athletes sponsor, school play co-director, and a member of the school and district leadership teams. My husband, John, and I have three kids, Evan, Logan, and Keaton; a foster son, Darrian, a daughter-in-law, Ashley; two sons-in-law, Sean and Ethan; and three grandchildren, Carley, Gavin, and Macy. My hobbies include painting anything I can get my hands on, sewing a variety of items, reading historical fiction, and gardening. My favorite time spent is with my family, especially with the three that call me Grandma. Fun facts about me are that I am the seventh of thirteen children, I grew up on a dairy farm, I have three small dogs, and someday I want to write and illustrate children's books. I am excited to teach in Superior because of its quality students, teachers, and staff. Welcome to #NebraskaWildcatNation Lora! We are glad to have you as part of our team! β€οΈπŸ–€

High School Choir isn't "sleeping on the job", but instead doing some focused practice on deep breathing. Students put their folder or music on the stomach with the goal of raising the folder with each breath before they sing. Join these students and the 7/8 General Music class at their first concert on October 16th!

Today Mrs. Roach's Class learned about the Survivor's Tree at the 9/11 Memorial and watched a documentary about people who experienced it first hand. The 5th graders used the inspiration from people involved and the example of the Survivor's tree to write their message of hope on paper leaves. The leaves were added to our tree display in our hallway. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
