Lenden Worm, a senior, shares his knowledge of the electrical industry with students in Mr. Thomas's Ag Mechanics classroom.
Bringing in current students allows Mr. Thomas to instill a mindset of passion to an industry in the younger students.

Today Mrs. Roach's Class learned about the Survivor's Tree at the 9/11 Memorial and watched a documentary about people who experienced it first hand. The 5th graders used the inspiration from people involved and the example of the Survivor's tree to write their message of hope on paper leaves. The leaves were added to our tree display in our hallway. πΊπΈ

The 5th grade students raised the flags and put them at half staff today in honor of 9/11. They also observed a moment of silence in honor of those who lost their lives on that day in 2001.

AgVenture day was full of learning all about agriculture. 4th grade got to really explore the roots of agriculture. πΎπ

Mrs. Roach and Ms. Pahl took their 5th grade students to visit the Nuckolls County Museum this morning. We learned a lot about our local communities!

Mrs. Roach and Ms. Pahl's 5th grade students also visited the Vestey center and practiced our states and capitals with Bingo. We got to play with some of our local senior community members and learn a little about them!! It was so much fun!! One of the ladies is 99 years old!!

During Lit Lab Kindergarten students have been learning the parts of their iPads.

Second graders celebrated "flapjacks and flannels" this past Friday to wrap up our Tall Tales & Fairy Tales unit!

Mrs. Henry here! Ask your kids about art today! We had such a fun day! So much fun I didn't take many pictures, but I enjoyed seeing all the smiling faces and we can't wait until next week. We followed all the rules and had so much fun creating masterpieces!

We love Art! Mrs. Henry inspires students to be creative and have fun! The 5th graders enjoyed creating paper sculptures, about themselves.

π¨ποΈ This week, our students explored the concept of Value in art! They put their creativity to work, combining Color Theory and Value to create stunning Optical Illusion artworks. Their pieces showcase how light, shadow, and color can create depth and trick the eye. πβ¨ Check out their incredible work. ππ

Please help us give a warm welcome to Jett Setenson, our elementary speech language pathologist.
My name is Jett Stenson and I am the new speech-language pathologist for grades 1st through 5th. Prior to coming to Superior Public Schools, I worked at Madonna Rehabilitation
Hospital for 6 years. There, I worked with a variety of ages and diagnoses. My husband, Tanner, works remotely for a golf course management company. We have two children - Palmer who just turned 3 and Lottie who is 4 months old. I enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, listening to podcasts, watching Nebraska volleyball, and reading. I am excited to be back in Superior and serve the school that once served me as a student!
Welcome to #NebraskaWildcatNation Jett! We are glad to have you as part of our team! β€οΈπ€

A field trip to Kara's apple orchard was the perfect way to start the month of September. PALLS preschoolers had a great time picking, sorting, smashing, and tasting the delicious apples.

PALLS Preschoolers had such a great day picking apples at the Smith Orchard. They picked as many as they could carry, sorted them by good and bad, helped squish them for cider, and then ate one for snack! π

Reminder: Tomorrow (Thursday) is the last day to donate food to the Food Drive Competition. All food needs to be in designated box by 3:38 p.m.

The 3rd Grade took advantage of the heat last week and did an experiment. last year we found out what temperature crayons melted. This year they learned what crayon colors absorb the most heat, and melt the quickest (dark colors) π and which ones don't absorb as much and melt very little (white)! The humidity was brutal and the temperature was HOTπ₯ but we LEARNED A LOT!

Thank you to Brodstone Healthcare for providing HIPPA training to the Internship class.
They also learned about all of the different career opportunities available in the health care field.
