Our art room has been full of creativity and clay these past few weeks 🎨 🏺

Students have been diving into ceramics, starting with the challenge of creating two unique bowls using different techniques like coil, slab, or even trying their hand at the pottery wheel. It’s been amazing to see their skills grow as they explored new ways to shape and build with clay.

After that, they took things a step further by designing and creating their own mugs, each one with a special theme that shows off their personality and creativity. From mastering the wheel to attaching details and choosing just the right glaze, students have been learning every step of the ceramic process.

We’ve had so much fun experimenting, problem-solving, and bringing these pieces to life. I’m proud of all the hard work and creativity happening in the art room

The city of Superior invited the kindergarten and 5th graders to the annual Arbor Day tree planting ceremony. Vicki Perrie taught the students how to correctly plant the tree and then let each of them take a turn filling the hole with dirt. This tree will be a place for these students to document their growth right alongside that of the tree.
