From July 15-19, Hudson Cambron, Ava Erpelding, and Brooke Ekstein from Superior Public Schools attended LAUNCH Leadership in Crete, Nebraska, on the Doane College campus. The theme this year dealt with dinosaurs. 🦖
Hudson and Ava were a part of the JAM program, which helps junior high students learn about leadership. Brooke was in the ALW program, which reinforces leadership skills by having students do service projects within the community. Leadership is made fun at this workshop as you can see from all the smiling faces. 🙂 Brooke's Coop (Coop Sid) won an award for the most points gained in the ALW competition. 🏆

You don't have to travel far from Superior to learn new things. Mrs. Schuster spend five days in Red Cloud studying Willa Cather and her literary works, particularly My Antonia. 📚 While attending the Willa Cather Teacher Institute in Red Cloud, she stayed in the Cather Second Home. 🏠 She had the opportunity to tour the Willa Cather Center's archives, see buildings related to My Antonia or to Cather's life through town and country tours, and visit the Homestead National Historical Park in Beatrice to listen to a presentation about women homesteaders. She also ate lunch at the new Garber Hotel.

As we get ready for a new school year, please remember that school physicals are required for the following students:
🧒 All incoming Kindergarten students
📚 All students entering 7th grade
🌎 Any student transferring from out of state
🏃♂️ All students in 7th-12th grade participating in school athletics
These physicals must be completed before the first day of school or the start of athletic practices. Appointments can fill up fast, so we encourage you to schedule soon.
